We’ve already brought you the top pre-orders for August 2017, so now it’s time to have a look at September and if you thought August was packed, then you ain’t seen nothing yet.
First up in September is what is sure to be one of the most popular games of the year, Destiny 2. Activision and Bungie’s sequel is already proving popular in the best sellers list, so we expect this one to be one of this year’s most sought after games, especially when it comes to the Limited Edition, which already seems to be hard to get hold of. On the bright side, Prime members pre-ordering the standard edition can get £2 off, so that’s something.
Not to leave out Nintendo, there are a few Switch games out in early September, such as The Binding of Issac Afterbirth + and Rayman Legends Definitive Edition, while LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 also comes to Switch, along with Pokken Tournament DX.
Of Switch also gets a few games which also appear on PS4 and Xbox One too, such as the NBA 2K18 and of course, the monster that is FIFA 18. While the Switch version is slightly watered down, the full version is set to continue The Journey, while also bringing improvements to modes such as Ultimate Team, as well as big improvements in gameplay too. We are always excited for FIFA, so can’t wait for this one.
Of course, FIFA needs a rival, so step up Pro Evolution Soccer 2018, a game we are hearing a lot of good things about this year. Konami is constantly adding new licensed kits and teams while also improving the action on the pitch. Pro Evolution Soccer was pretty fantastic last year, so any improvements will also make this a brilliant alternative to EA’s popular title.
Which will you buy? We can never decide, so usually end up opting for both.
Dishonored: Death Of The Outsider also arrives in September, which should please fans of the series. The next standalone adventure sees you take on the role of Billie Lurk as she reunites with her mentor Daud in order to “pull off the greatest assassination ever conceived.” Of course, whether she succeeds or not will be down to you and the way you decide to play through the game, be that using stealth or by storming through and killing everything in sight – the latter of which we always end up doing despite our best intentions of trying out the stealth option.
The NHL series may not be for everyone, but we love it. We don’t claim to understand the rules mind you, but if you treat it like football and try to get the puck in the net more than the other team then you can’t fail to have fun. It also helps you can wack the opposition with your hockey stick and start some fights too. We’ll likely get used to the rule one day. There’s no doubt this is one stunning looking game and the fast paced gameplay makes for a brilliant time. We just wish it was on Switch too, as we’d love to play this one on a portable device.
If you love cars then you may be keeping an eye out for Project Cars 2, which comes to PS4, Xbox One and PC this September. We get the feeling it wasn’t as appreciated last time around by console gamers than it was by PC gamers, but there’s no doubt it looks stunning and plays that way too.
Although if driving is not your thing, then maybe fighting is. With Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite also making its way to consoles this September. There’s not too much to be said about this one, as if you love fighting games you’ve probably already got this one marked in your diary.
This is just a selection of the titles coming out in September and doesn’t even include the digital titles also on the way, such as the highly anticipated Cuphead.
We’ll bring you the top pre-orders for October and November throughout the rest of the week.
