We’ve already reviewed the Lombex WiFi Smart LED Bulb, and now it’s the turn of the Lombex Smart Plug, which pretty much works in the same way. First off you’ll need to plug it into a lamp and then wait for it to flash. You then download the Lombex app, select your wi-fi and wait as the app finds the bulb. It couldn’t be more straightforward really.
First off you’ll need to plug it and wait for it to flash. You then download the Lombex app, select your wi-fi and wait as the app finds the plug and that’s you all setup. It couldn’t be more straightforward really. It’s even more simple, if like us, you were already using a Lobex device, as then you’ll simply need to search for new devices.
Should you plan to set the plug up with Alexa, then you’ll need to enable the Lombex skill and also search for new devices. Once this simple step is done it’ll work pretty well. When using with Alexa we decided to rename the plug to the device which was plugged into it, in this case, a fan. This means all we need to say to Alexa is Fan on or Fan off and the Echo will activate the plug, which means if it gets too hot at night, we don’t need to get out of bed. Bonus!
One other feature of the plug is that it also comes with a USB port. This means whenever you plug something in (or not) you can use the smart plug to charge whatever you like via USB. Another handy feature to have really.
One final feature is that you can set up a schedule for your smart plug or a timer, so if you have a lamp plugged in for instance, then you can schedule it to turn on/off if you are away from home, giving the impression that someone is in the house.
Obviously, there’s not much more we can say about a plug, but you should by now get the picture of how this could come in useful for you.
