The iPad Pro is a wonderful device, in fact I’m writing this review on it right now. It’s a device which one day may replace the laptop, although at the moment it still has a few annoyances. Where is the trackpad on my keyboard? I’ll never get used to that.
Thankfully iPad iOS, which was recently announced, may help with issues such as the missing trackpad and it’ll also help make the Anker Premium 5 in 1 USB-C Hub a device that will be hard to live without, although at the moment it’s still a very handy thing to own if you spend a lot of your time on the iPad Pro.
Given the iPad Pro has a USB-C port, Anker’s 5-in1 is very useful indeed. It comes with two USB Hubs, a Standard SD Card slot, a Micro SD Slot and even an HDMI slot.
At the moment, plugging memory into any of the slots will see your photos and videos come up in the photos app, allowing you to save them to your device and then import them and use the files as you like, be that in a video editor or photo editing app, or even here in WordPress, like I did with the photos you can see in this article.
Later in the year, when iPad iOS is released, you’ll be able to import your photos, files and videos directly into the app your are using, which sounds fantastic and also makes life a whole lot easier than having to find them in photos and import them that way.
Then there is the HDMI port, which at the moment allows you to use your TV to view photos and videos on a larger screen (i.e a TV), although there is also a way you can use this to make a second screen for your Mac. Apple will have its own app for this, although I believe there are others you can download now.
As with all things Anker, the device is well built and very sturdy. It also looks pretty fantastic too. It does seem like it’ll last you quite a while beyond its warranty, so there’s not too much to complain about, especially when it only costs £20.99.
We’d call this an iPad Pro must have accessory.
